Very little history is available. One story on the web indicates that the company may have begun in about 1928. We are not sure if the companies had something in common or not - and show two companies. Maybe you have other findings?
In 1997, Servistar/Coast to Coast merged with Cotter & Company to form TruServ, owner of True Value hardware stores.

This manufacturer was suggested by Steven Sostrom.
