The British Blue Spot Company Ltd.
Blue Spot House, 94/96 Rosoman Street, Roseberry Avenue, London EC1 (1932)
Sterling Works, Dagenham, Essex (1935)

The Blue Spot was first a moniker given to Blaupunkt models that were, most likely, imported and re-labeled in the UK (the details are currently unknown) and sold by Hughes.

From 1930 on, The British Blue Spot Co. Ltd. built loudspeakers under licence of Blaupunkt Germany, and also used an "official" Blaupunkt style logo.

After Ismay bought the company, they also built wireless sets (from 1935 onwards).

History:

F. A. Hughes & Co. Ltd. was a a business involved in the casting and molding industry. In the mid-1920 they sold Blaupunkt speakers and drivers, in advertisements calling them the "Blue Spot series".

In 1930, a company was set up under the name of The British Blue Spot Co. Ltd. as a subsidiary of Hughes. This company manufactured and marketed loudspeakers under licence of Blaupunkt Germany, and also used an "official" Blaupunkt style logo.

In 1934 they were acquired by John Ismay and Sons and the company moved to Dagenham.

The company ceased trading in 1938.

Blaupunkt later used the Blue Spot logo on export models, see e.g. model Florida 4627.

A similarly convoluted situation can be found in France with Au Point Bleu, a company owned by Raymond Ferry who imported Blaupunkt models, partly with French labeling, but also sold his own models under the name of "Au Point Bleu". Only with the foundation of a proper subsidiary in around 1932, this situation was resolved.

This manufacturer was suggested by Konrad Birkner † 12.08.2014.
