History:
Tallinn`s Manufactory and Trading AS ( founded 1923) was a business enterprise whose primary operating area was soft goods (distributers in Berlin, London & Kairo). Radio department was founded in 1935, manger was Viktor Salmre. Within a month, the initiative young man gained distribution rights for large German and British radio manufacturers (Körting, Saba, Kolster-Brandes, PYA, Ferranti etc.). The radio department was opened on 1. September, 1935. In October the company participated in the VII Estonian Radio Exhibition, where it gained attention for having display of the same size as the one from famous radio business AS Tormolen & Ko. The company decided to add an Estonian brand to their selection of radios. Since V. Salmre has worked for Raadio-Tere ( after 1937 Ülo Raadio), the radios were ordered from there. The new trademark was named Suprema. Supposedly beginning from the 1937/38 season, portion of radios were ordered from Standard-Raadio, J. Rammul factory. Since 1938/39 season, the resemblance between Suprema and Standard-Raadio J.Rammul radios was evident.
