The introductory price in March 1931 was $69.50, and the name of the company at that time was Echophone Radio Mfg. Co. Ltd, according to advertisements in both "Radio" and "Radio Retailing" for March 1931.

Hi Alan,    I just thought you would like to know that I have a radio from Argentina that is almost  an identical copy of your Echophone radio. It is from 1932. It is a Comodoro model G-9. The tube line up is different and it runs on 220 volts. I found it at a flea market for $50.00. It looks like it was built in the USA, but exported to Argentina by Charles Thornton and co ltd. I have a copy of the original ad of the radios that the Thornton co. distributed back in the day.

Hi again Alan, I have an update on the radio. The tube line up is 57, 58, 57, 47, 80. The serial number is 34017.  It was Evans, Thornton and Co. Defensa 477 Buenis Aries, Argentina that handled radio distribution.

Thank you; information on export models is hard to find, since they were rarely mentioned and never advertised here.
