Dear Radio Friends.
I got, a while ago, from a colleague an electronic kit presented in the 6-7/89 issue of the Swedish version of the Elector magazine. This friend of mine bought this kit from Germany in 1989 through the german Elector issue, but he did never even open it until I begun assembling it. This is a “Frequency counter display for radio receiver equipment”. The kit had several serious faults but the biggest one was, I couldn't get it working because of wrong components.
When all hardwork was finished and I started the tests, I could only see a row of dashes.
There are eight 7-segment displays and they showed all the d-segment. I knew I hadn't done any mistake in the assembling, so I started to look after component faults.
Yep,..of course you begin with the counter itself and --- bingo---, I read from the IC; ICM 7217 AIPI. Here it should be: ICM 7217 or ICM 7217BIPI.
The ICM7217AIPI is for common Cathode and the ICM7217... is for common anode..
Well, the friend of mine did never know he bought shit for a quite a high price.

Well, now to the question: Is there anyone who knows where to get this spec counter ICM7217 or ICM7217BIPI with common anode?.
I need two of them.

Kind regards

Lars-G.

Thanks a lot T.Krueger for the hint.

This will surely help me sleep well again. I couldn't really find this site when I googled for the chip. In Honkong they offered me the chip but they wanted me to buy hundreds of them.

Regards with a big smile.
