Re Gilfillan 52-A

My uploaded model does not have any identification on it, BUT looks identical to the glass mirror type 52-A.

Also although 100 - 115 volt AC/DC type, the tube line up is 25Y5 (25Z5), 43, 6C6, 6D6 & 6A7 in the chassis.

Any thoughts?

Hi Bruce,
as the tubes are different, you have an other model. Please create a new model with unknown type. Than send a mail to me or an other picture admin to move your pictures to the new model.

Heribert Jung

To

Ernst Erb  and Heribert Jung,

Thank you Heribert for your email forum to me about the Gilfillan 52A.

I have often wondered if my Glass Mirrored radio (1935) was in the right section for Gilfillan radios.

The 2 pages for Gillfillan 52A and 53A  (written up by Ernst Erb) show the 52A as a AC only model, from the advertisemnt picture Ernst has put up, and the 53A as an AC/DC set, as advertised in the same brochure.

I now wonder if my set, is ACTUALLY the model 53A as it is an AC/DC set?

Please let me know, I can put it up as an unknown radio model if you think that is best.

Regards to all at Radio Museum,

Bruce Wilkie

Hello Bruce,

as a rule of thumb, you should never upload images to a model sheet if there are such obvious differences as the tube line-up. The exterior design of your set is also different from the shown set.

So yes, please go ahead and submit a new model, your pictures can be moved afterwards.

Thanks!

Kind regards
Mark
