Hello I have a 1957 Blond Telefunken Opus 7 Radio in Nice shape,The FM switch is worn out and will not engage. I have a spare chassis but replacing the whole switch Mechanism I am Told will cost more than it's worth. Can any body tell me if there is a way to replace just the FM switch alone, or are there any other fixes ?  Thanks: D. Dennis,

Do you think that you would be able to loosen the screws on the bottom to see if the FM switch will engage?

When loosening screws and moving the chassis, be careful NOT to shatter the dial glass!

If loosening the chassis solves the problem, you might need to replace the rubber gaskets between the radio chassis and cabinet, to establish enough play so that the switch engages.

Otherwise, this "wear" you're talking about is VERY rare.

hello dennis, have you tried switch lubricant , comes in an aerosol with an extention tube to allow fluid to get into the contacts , and remove corrosion , usually this is all thats needed , regards maitiu.

It is a members duty to react if he/she gets answers. It is also friendly ...

For making this easy we did foresee two devices (links) for an easy remembering:
To activate e-mail notification for this board (or thread only).
and
*** Please remind me ... ***

I don't want to "spoil" our members who do answer questions and therefore write such reminders - also to keep up the correct AND reacheable eMail-address in the profile (for getting the notices).

It would be much better that some persons who answer questions do this reminders instead of me who has already a too great load for RMorg.

We have two ways - caring - or not caring ... You probably know where it leads to later if only ONE person does the caring. There will be a time after me and I fear that all my efforts are in vain if you don't care!

We should have members who care more for their language section. My English is not sufficient too  ...
