Hello everybody:

I am studying the schematic of this radio, Saba Freiburg 14, and I do not know where is placed the switch labeled AM/FM that is connected to the Limit Switches (to stop the movement at the end of the dial) showed in the document.

I will really appreciate someone can help me to find this mysterious switch. Does it belong to the Push Button Assembly? If yes, What is the number?

Reviewing the schematic of Saba Freiburg 12, this switch is labeled U7 but in the Freiburg 14, this is used in other part of the radio.

Thank you very much in advanced and kind regards,

José Bustos

Hello!

The limit switches on the Freiburg/ 400 models are each located next to the tuning pulleys serving the tuning units. One for the AM bands, one for the FM. They are operated by cams (eccentrics) on the pulleys. When at the end of travel, the contacts close. Simply stated, these control the grid on roehre 702 (EABC80 triode section) to cause the tube to release the holding/ locking solenoid, stopping the tuning motor.

I hope this helps.

 Regards,

 Dennis Daly
