Hi, i want to ask about power supply, as battery is impossible to get, at least from my researches - not found.... is any schematic similar to create ac power supply for this model - if possible

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Dear Bartosz,

You can use 10 times a 9V-Battery for the 90V supply. There are boxes for that available at the internet. For the 1.5V you could parallel as many A-Type batteries as you have space in the battery compartment in the radio.

If you want to use the radio permanently the you have to build a power supply. May be somebody comes up with a schematic for this. I'm not aware that a finished module is available on the market..

Regards, Rolf

A replica battery using an Alkline D cell and 10 x 9V packs is easy to make, including the socket.

I made a replica B141 using 60x AAA cells and paralleled D cells for closer to original running time and weight. Scans of the cover are available. I stick the printout to a two part box made of cereal packet card.

An AC power unit would spoil the originality and needs to be regulated 1.35V DC LT and about 80V HT. It's a higher risk to damage or wear out the battery valves. Battery tube sets were usually specially designed differently if intended to be used also on AC mains.

The one I made. The socket is two layers of margarine tub plastic and the four sockets made out of coffee tin cut with scissors.

Email my address on this post if you want an image to print.

I have very many battery tube sets. I use very few (only well designed like Colette) on mains, and mostly the mains ones on battery. I seldom use them on an everyday basis as many of the battery valves are rarer than mains types (Exception 1T4 / DF91) and are much shorter running time / life.

Some of the packs I've made. My 11 year old grandson is making a B126 and the LT pack for the Vidor CN429 / Lady Margaret I'm helping him restore. If you buy the right kind of 9V pack they will plug into each other. Note, unlike cylinder 1.5V cells, there is little advantage of an Alkaline over the Layer type pack. Always use Alkaline for cylinder types.

Construction:

I actually only put 2 x D cells in parallel in it. There are two trays of 10 x 3 AAA cells. You can use one D cell and 10 x PP3 / 6F22 cells. I take apart exhausted 9V packs for the connectors. You need only two, both cut in half to connect to socket and the two sets of five batteries.
I now add 30mA 20mm fuses for HT and also an LT fuse if there is space.

The top and bottom box images are too large to upload here.

Or it might have 60x AA cells. I'd need to check!
