Saluti Gabriele

Ciao Gabriele, in merito al tuo trasformatore considera quanto segue:
per la valvola tipo 80, l'assorbimento filamento è 5V 2A ed il trasformatore è adeguato;

Buone feste

Gabriele

Ciao Gabriele, I answer in english as my italian is quite poor.

Instead of changing the original transformer in your set, which is quite antique and would not be considered anymore as original after the modification of the power supply, you might consider usind a transformer from 220 to 110 Volts. I have one with the original US socket, so I can use it for several U.S. sets.

Another option would be to use a variable transformer and just adjust to the output voltage which is needed to power up your SX25, that's what I usually do.

Here in Switzerland, we have some old U.S. sets, part of them come with an original multi voltage transformer (suffix U for universal transformer in Hallicrafters model number), some of them are changed to 220 V by an earlier owner and some still are for 110 V.

This can be a problem if someone buys a set, changes to plug to one matching the 230V mains socket and booom, he will ruin the set when switching it on the first time. So the idea to leave it original and use a transformer from 230 to 110 V is my favourite,

kind regards, saluti della Svizzera
Martin
