This radio is listed as AC/DC.  It is in fact an AC set - it uses a voltage doubler in the power supply, which will not operate on DC current.

This is now a typical model which comes in two variants - with the otherwise same model designation.

If you only enter the actual model number, 7S433, as suggested in the blue help-info button for the "simple model search" you will get two Zenith models 7S433. One is for AC only, the other for AC/DC - at present. But you are right, both variants are for AC only and we will have to find an other term for distinguish ...

Because officially this is not distinguished we have the field "variant" which we filled accordingly.
Please use the right model page for upload or any other activity.

I will enter a remark in red to each of the two models about that. And: The same probably applies for more models.
