Mit der Bahn: vom Bahnhof Ansbach mit den Linienbussen von Wellhöfer und VGN in ca. 20 Min. zur Ortsmitte Leutershausen. Mit dem Auto: von Norden kommend auf der Autobahn A7 nehmen Sie die Ausfahrt 108 / Rothenburg ob der Tauber und fahren in Ri. Geslau. Nach 23 km sind Sie in Leutershausen. Aus dem Süden auf der Autobahn A7 fahren Sie am AK Feuchtwangen auf der A6 weiter in Richtung Nürnberg bis zur Ausfahrt 50 / Aurach. Über Neunstetten erreichen Sie Leutershausen nach 8 km.Von Westen und Osten auf der A6 fahren Sie ebenfalls bis zur Ausfahrt 50 und weiter wie beschrieben. Privatpiloten finden in der Umgebung von Leutershausen 7 Verkehrslandeplätze. Die beiden nächstgelegenen sind EDFR Rothenburg o.d.T. mit eigenem Restaurant und EDQF Ansbach-Petersdorf. |
| Description | The "Aviation Pioneer Gustav Weißkopf Museum"gives an insight into Weißkopf´s/Whitehead´s pioneering deeds and achievements as an early aviator and will answer the question of why he had almost fallen into complete oblivion.With an introductory film (may be bought as a video), a contemporary and documentary photo collection, documents, books, periodicals, reports, and models, with a working motor replica, and - last not least- with a full scale flown replica of Weißkopf´s flying machine "No. 21", the visitor of the museum is being led through the life and work of Weißkopf. The "Aviation Pioneer Gustav Weisskopf Museum" was founded in 1974 by Stella Randolph, William J. O`Dwyer and the City of Leutershausen. By the way: The Aviation Pioneer Gustav Weißkopf Museum and the interesting Museum of Local History belong and work together. The latter takes the visitors into the era of our forefathers and shows their way of life, skills and trades. |
