Ausstellungsthemen



Das Museum würdigt hauptsächlich das Leben und Schaffen des Nicolaus von Dreyse als Erfinder des Zündnadelgewehrs am Beginn einer 200-jährigen industriellen Entwicklungsgeschichte seiner Heimatstadt Sömmerda. Eine kleine Sammlung historischer Waffen und deren Herstellung, Wohn- und Arbeitswelt im 19. Jahrhundert, Heinrich Ehrhardt und die Entstehung der Fabrik “Rheinmetall” Sömmerda und die Entwicklung des Büromaschinenwerkes Sömmerda (BWS) von 1945 bis 1990 und seine Produkte (elektrische und mechanische Schreib- und Rechenmaschinen, Computer, Drucker und Gebrauchsgüter) sind Inhalt der Ausstellung.

Im Schau-Depot des städtischen Archivs kann auf Anfrage (Tel.: 03634-350248) eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Schreib- und Rechenmaschinen ab 1923 und die Produktpalette des BWS besichtigt werden.
