Take the A4 Cologne-Olpe. At exit 25, leave the motorway in the direction Wiehl. Free parking is available for cars and buses immediately in front of the museum. By train, get off at the station Dieringhausen. From there, take the 302 bus to Wiehl, get off at the stop Achsenfabrik. |
Description | In its collection, the Axle, Wheel and Carriage Museum in Wiehl presents artefacts dating from prehistoric times to the 21st century, which illustrate the cultural and technological history of the drawn wagon over a period of more than 5 500 years. The last century is demonstrated using the firm and product history of the BPW Bergische Achsen KG in Wiehl. ExhibitionBesides the historic and modern axles by BPW, the collection presents prehistoric and antique exhibits from Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as modern exhibits on the topic of vehicle construction. The cultural history of axle, wheel and carriage is depicted on an area of 2,000 sqm, with 1,000 sqm exhibition space. |
