This is a Mohawk Chieftan radio made by Mohawk Corp of Illinois before the merger with Rauland. I've never seen one in person, but it was made with a one-dial ganged condenser and 5 exposed tubes mounted inline just as shown in the Chieftan schematic. The schematic is not a typo. The model VA had a different tube layout as shown on the VA schematic. The cabinet for the chieftan is the same as the Mohawk Pontiac shown on page 27 of Alan Douglas V1. Probably made in limited numbers using left over inventory after the VA was discontinued. Ad is dated 10/30/1926 Waterloo Iowa.
