The model Knight H9815 (catalog 1936, copyrighted 1935!) is a 32 volt 6 tube "continuous All-Wave" Farm Radio with an Airplane Dial and push-pull output. Reception is 19 to 555 meters in three bands: 19 to 55 meter, 55 to 175 meter and BC 175 - 555 (given is then 565 in the catalog) meter. Allied claims $ 49.95 retail value in its catalog - but offers for $ 23.95 "complete with Raytheon tubes" - for the public... Full AVC on all three bands, full range tone control. "Has front panel of choice burl walnut with beaded sides and top panels. Latest dual-illuminated Airplane Dial".
This model H9815 is very similar to the later model A9813 (console A9814 and chassis A9815) in catalog 1937 for 1936/37 - just having an other cabinet but the same chassis with probably the same schematic - followed by Spring-Summer Catalog 1937 as Knight A9724 with again the same chassis (console A9725, chassis A9726) but the schematic must be sligthly different to receive from 17 m instaed of 19 m and the cabinet was changed again.Stein shows the very same model with designation H9822 on page 156, but we don't know yet if it exists..

I have a Knight 32 volt radio in my collection. There is NO indication of a model or manufacturer on the chassis or on the cabinet - there is only a plate on the rear chassis with patent information and a serial number. Knight is naturally a trade mark of Allied Radio Corp. Can anyone tell which model it is please? The schematic matches Allied Radio models A9724, A9725, A9726 and A9813, EXCEPT that none of those schematics show a TONE CONTROL. My radio has a tone control (this could of course be an error in the schematic drawing). Frequency coverage is 550-1600kHz, 1700-5300kHz, and 5.3-15mHz. Also, my set has a SHIP figure on the dial, like the Allied branded set A9811 (6 volts DC) but UNLIKE the Allied A9724 series. I have included a Photo of the front.
