  • Notes
  • The AWA Radiola Transistor Carnaby 8 model B58 was offered the same time (for $ 59.90) as model Carnaby 7 B59 (for $ 49.90) but they look different and only on B59 there is well visible the brand Radiola. The output stage is identical with the AWA B59 with only 7 transistors.

This model B58 has 8 transistors, 3 diodes, a 6" oval speaker, non-metal chassis, all-States twin dial scale, tone control, robust hinged carrying handle, Battery Saver connection.

Transistor brand AWA AS313 may be substituted for the first AS311 (audio driver) in manufacture. All transistors bear the AWA brand. The voltage drop (Base - Emitter) is shown as 0.6 volts which would indicate Silicon rather than germanium.
Designated battery is a 9 Volt type 276P. Weight is without battery. There is provision for an external 9 Volt power supply.

External antenna and earth connections can be made using the case's back securing screws. Colours available: Shell White, Caribbean Blue & Copperglo Tan.
