  • Significant for the HV 230 (HV means hoofdversterker or main amplifier) is that the two tubes EL34 are switched in Class AB. Reason was that Class A gives too low rendement. For this two stages of voltage-amplification were necessary. The first is the left-hand part of ECC40 (1). The other half functions as 'phase-splitter'. The second amplification stage is done by the second ECC40.

    This model is part of the so-called '200-serie'.
