  • Bemerkung
  • The Mozzullphone L.F. Transformer was produced by B.D.S. Wireless Co. Ltd., as part of the firm’s Mozzullphone range of radio components. It featured an open iron frame with a large vertical coil and a generously sized laminated core. Care was taken to prevent bolts from passing through the laminations, improving magnetic efficiency. Terminals were substantial, clearly marked, and easily accessible. The transformer was of medium‑large order, intended for use between small power valves in low‑frequency amplification stages.

    Notes

    • Measured winding resistance indicated a nominal 5 : 1 ratio, slightly lower than typical commercial values.
    • Insulation resistance between windings and frame was adequate for standard H.T. and grid‑bias conditions.
    • In comparative tests, tone quality was described as moderate, lacking some richness at lower audio frequencies but free from noticeable distortion.
    • Performance was considered satisfactory for experimenters and moderate‑priced sets.
