  • Annotazioni
  • Boonton Q Meter 260-A uses for the voltmeter a unique calibrated tube, 535-A, especially made for Boonton. About the date, we found in Boonton's "The Notebook", Summer 1954, number 2 on page 5: "When the Q Meter Type 260-A was introduced in 1953, its predecessors, the Types 100-A and 160-A, had been giving satisfactory laboratory service for a period of over 18 years, and had long since become a standard for Q measurements." But its circuit had certain limitations and for this reason, the Q Meter Type 260-A was developed.
Two instruments, 50 kHz - 50 MHz, Boonton Radio Co. Rockaway NJ.
The Q Meter Type 260-A measures the Q of inductors directly from 10 to 625 over a frequency range of 50 KC to 50 MC. Values of inductance from 0.09 micro-henries to 130 millihenries can also be measured directly with this instrument. Front panel dials which indicate the frequency of the applied voltage and the capacitance of the measuring circuit permit the calculation of inductance outside this range as well as values of Q, X, R, and L or C of other components.
Frequency Range: Continuously variable from 50 kilocycles to 50 megacycles in eight self-contained ranges.
    Frequency Accuracy: Approximately ±1%
Range of Circuit Q Measurement: Q measurement can be made from 10 to 625. Range of delta Q scale is from 0 to 50.
Accuracy of Q Measurement: Circuit Q of 250 read directly on the indicating meter is accurate to ±5% from 50 kc. to 30 Mc.; accuracy decreases to ±10% at 50 Mc.
