• Remarques

• The "Portable Wireless Receiver" of B.T.H. is manufactured by "The Cox-Cavendish Electrical Company". It has a swivel base that the cabinet sits on to enable the set to be aligned to the transmitter. It is the lid when the set is stored. The Portable Wireless Receiver is in a mahogany cabinet the lid of which also forms a base in the style of a large compass. A spigot in the centre locates with a turntable in the base of the cabinet. The frame aerial swings out and the waveband switch is what can be described as a knife blade that slides into a slot at the top rear of the cabinet shorting out the coil windings as required.

  This receiver was developed by Mr. Reginald Charles Clinker (1874 - 1931), Chief Research Engineer of BTH.
