  • Notes
  • For the Roamio car radio number 91 from Corsley we list the original tube line up, not the newer names 24 and 12A.ybr /> The Roamio car radio was installed in 3 peaces: the dial with the key switch, the station finder knob and the volume knob with wire plus mechanical "turning connection" (stations). This was connected to the main chassis with the actual radio and loudspeaker-combination. Separatly comes the power unit as a third item.
Roamio stayed as name for Crosley car radios for quite some years - telling the model (year) by an additional number.
The chassis of the Roamio 91 with the 5 tubes has a depht of 17 cm and the screwed-on loudspeaker, Crosley model 279, takes another 5.5 cm. The dial is 11 cm wide and has a height of 13.7 cm. It shows the frequency (Kc) in red and numbers from 0 to 100 in black. The screws on the iron case have rectangular heads. We would be interested to know the differences between the very early models like Roamio 90, Roamio 92 etc.
