  • Notes
  • The Crosley 132-1 "Symphony" is an AC operated 12 tube BC band receiver.  Has push pull audio output stage and Qty(2) Electro Magnetic Dynamic speakers. Also has RF gain stage, separate oscillator circuit, two stage IF amplifier, AVC circuit and push pull audio pre-driver stage.  BC band tuning range is 550 to 1750kHz.

From the Crosley News Brochure:  ...incorporate class "B" amplification, silent automatic volume control, four gang tuning condenser, double tuned image suppresor pre-selector, meter tuning, full floating moving coil dual dynamic speakers and many other recent developments.

Two of the new type 46 tubes are used in the class B amplifier circuit.  These tubes will deliver over 25 watts output.

In many cases Crosley used the chassis number as the model number, and added a model name to some models to help distinguish versions that used common chassis.  Here are the models that used the 132-1 chassis versions:

    Model Model Type Chassis
    Ambassador Console 132-1
    Chief Console 132-1
    Commissioner Console 132-1
    Symphony Console 132-1
