  • Notes
  • The De Forest LC-400 Three Coil Mounting consists of brass angle piece holding three coil receptacles which move on bearings so that coupling between the coils can be changed at will. De Forest coils were manufactured by Coto-Coil (Providence, RI). Chief Engineer Gowen designed the Unit Receiver and the plug-in coils, but end of 1918 De Forest reclined that. In 1919 the business went down, and De Forest authorized Gowen to proceed with the developments. By order of De Forest Gowen contacted Thomas Giblin, President of Coto-Coil. Coto-Coil as well as Giblin both manufactured later coils under their own name. Giblin also built radios.
