- Notes
-
The Elwell "Tellite" was a high-quality, stable crystal detector from the 1920s, designed for use in crystal radio receivers like the Elwell Panel No. 11.
The detector unit was mounted on a small panel base and featured a fine adjustment device for precise tuning. Its key feature was the "tellite" crystal itself, which demonstrated remarkable stability in testing. Unlike many other crystals that required frequent readjustment, the tellite crystal maintained its sensitive condition even when the detector was handled.
