  • The case of this radio is reverse painted on both the front and back surfaces, which are made from Tenite(cellulose acetate)butyrate from Eastman Chemicals. It was also known as "Nevabreak plastic". There is also a 4 transistor variant. Transistors are numbered with the code 312 (for Sylvania), followed by the codes E046, E047, E048, E049 E904, which are probably Emerson part numbers. An Emerson model 555 was also made for the British market using six OC series transistors and had long wave reception in addition to the broadcast band.

Embossed on the back cover is "Emerson Radio and Phoograph Corporation, Jersy City, NJ, USA" .

The interesting thing is the "Jersy City, NJ" part, not New York,NY.
