Balloon Circloid RF-Transformer
Sold singly and in sets of three, also in kits containing three .00035 condensers.
As advertised in Radio News, September 1925, page 377, as a new kind of coil:
- The ERLA Balloon Circloid instantly brings four remarkable improvements to your existing radio set: greater distance, increased volume, enhanced selectivity, and superior tone quality.
- Recent scientific discoveries have revealed a new principle of inductance, yielding astounding results. Now, you can apply this breakthrough to your current set with the innovative ERLA Balloon Circloid coils.
- Thousands of tests and experiments were conducted before the circloid was finally perfected. Leading radio engineers worked tirelessly to develop a coil that would address the four key weaknesses of conventional sets. At last, they succeeded.
When circloids are used, results once thought impossible are achieved with surprising ease. Consider these four outstanding benefits:
- Greater Distance: Circloids have no measurable external field to affect adjacent coils or wiring circuits. This allows for higher amplification at each stage, resulting in increased sensitivity and extended range.
- More Volume: Enhanced RF amplification enables circloids to receive distant stations that are barely audible on ordinary sets, delivering enough volume through the loudspeaker to fill an auditorium.
- Increased Selectivity: Circloids possess absolutely no pickup qualities of their own. Only signals flowing through the antenna circuit are amplified, which explains the near-total absence of static.
- Finer Tone Quality: The self-enclosed field effectively prevents stray feedback between coils, eliminating blurring or distortion. Tones remain crystal clear.
