  • Fountain AF1550 Solid State Stereo Amplifier

Fountain hi-fi equipment, manufactured by Fountain Electronic Industries, Ltd, of Auckland, has been very popular in New Zealand for a number of years. One of their most popular amplifiers is the Fountain AF1550, with a claimed power output of 18 watts R.M.S. per channel (with a load of eight ohms) and music power of 25.5 watts per channel.

The frequency response is quoted as from 19 Hz to 26,000 Hz (plus or minus 1½db) at 10 watts. These specifications allow a magnetic cartridge to be used. The amplifier has a full range of controls and filters. The Fountain RF1660 is the same stereo amplifier combined with the Fountain TF1000 radio tuner, an AM unit with a frequency range of 25Hz to 10,000 Hz.
