  • The G&T Exhibition soundbox is the earliest and scarcest form of the famous Exhibition design, produced before the company became HMV. It features hand‑finished components, early‑pattern G&T backplate markings, and a lighter mica diaphragm, giving it subtly brighter acoustic characteristics. Later HMV versions from 1909 were more standardised, with revised machining, improved rubber parts, and heavier diaphragms. The G&T model remains the correct and historically significant soundbox for early Monarch‑era machines.
