  • This very late AA5 (All-American-5) kit radio design features a plastic enclosed tuning capacitor with film dielectric, a small Ferrite loopstick and a miniature LO coil in a separate PCB assembly. These parts and the small and shallow 3.25inch speaker are the kind that is usually found in transistor radios. The IF transformers and the rest of the radio are the same size that is found in other tube radios.

Fellow Radiophiles,

I bought this very nice poster on ebay recently. The poster shows a schematic of a generic AA5 (All-American-5) AC/DC AM tube radio, and it was originally published by Graymark.

This version of the AA5 was probably the most produced AM tube radio design ever.

I scanned the large 16"x22" poster, and touched up the wear marks. Click the picture to see the full size version and print it in a large piece of paper to hand in your workshop. Or feel free to post this scan on your web site.
