The case condition of this example is brilliant but the shoulder strap is lost and the handle is deteriorating. This model uses the same case as the J1-16 but a different circuit.

This radio uses a revision of the J1-16 chassis with the same case. It was superseded by the Rangemaster  (J4-17) with a tuned RF stage and Townsman (J6-19), both of which were cheaper.
