    A seven transistor, two diode portable radio housed in a plastic case of Apache Red, Storm Grey, Coral Pink & Teal Blue. A "swing-up" carrying handle is provided for easy portability.

    Features: tuned RF stage and high performance IF channel. A complimentary symmetry push-pull circuit for less audio distortion and battery consumption. Controls: three-roller type knobs for tuning, tone and combined volume/On-Off. dial scale is divided straight line, having two pointers with separated groupings for each State. A scale marked in kC/s (kHz) is also available. Built-in Ferrite rod aerial. Socket for car aerial or external aerial and earth. Speaker, 7" x 4" elliptical with high flux magnet.

    A heavy portable with a diecast front panel. The dial is marked in six sections with the states of NSW (New South Wales), QLD (Queensland), WA (Western Australia), VIC (Victoria), SA (Southern Australia) and TAS (Tasmania). High impedance 30 ohm elliptical speaker

This radio uses the J8 chassis and the schematic is listed under HMV Consort. The Regent differs from the Consort in that the back is coloured plastic rather than the padded vinyl of the Consorts. See The HMV Sprite and Tropicana for similar variations.
