    The British Mutek company sold a high-performance front-end board for this venerable RIG (Design by Ian White, G3SEK).

    Superheterodyne receiver: in SSB/CW Single conversion, in FM double conversion.
    Sensitivity: In SSB/CW less than 0.5 µV for 10 dB S+N/N. In FM greater than 30 dB (S + N/N + D/N + D) at 1 µV.
    Transmitter: Dynamic Microphone 1.3 kΩ with preamplifier and PTT.
    This device can operate in Simplex and in Duplex.

    A model with the same characteristics except for the operating frequency is the IC 251 A. Frequency range 143.8000 - 148.1999 MHz.
