    Transistor TX4 is a Y25 and is used as a detector diode.

    Uses a single PP11 Battery (consists of 2 sections of  4.5 V).

    As well as a car aerial socket this radio is fitted with an earphone/tape socket.

    There were other colour versions of this radio, explained here in an extract from "Radio! Radio!" third edition;

    "VP21 (Rhapsody Super 8)... Plastics cabinet available in Venetian red with chrome trim (Carmina), midnight blue with chrome trim (Starlight), clear red and white (Scarlet) and pearl white and gilt trim (Golden)".

    KB service note;
    The model VP21 has a thin ferrite rod with windings mounted on paxolin tube, and is fitted with 8 transistors.
