12 Watt Driver Amplifier 139-A

The driver amplifier ilustrated at the right was especially designed to work with the 100-watt amplifier (138-A). The circuit employed uses six tubes, providing a gain of 80.7 db. Overall gain of driver and power stage is 95 db. Tubes used include 2-56,s 1-53, 2-2A3's and 1-5Z3 rectifier. Hum level (combined driver and power stage) is -50 db below 100-watts output. The driver amplifier has a high-impedance input of 500,000 ohms, and is especially designed for use with multi input mixers such as the one shown with the 100-watt system listed on page 17 (see page 28 for additional listing of electronic mixers and preamplifiers). A master gain control, with graduated dial, is mounted on the front panel along with a full range tone control. Tone control limits high-frequency response to suit individual requirements of the installation. A jeweled pilot light is furnished for "on-off" indication. Chassis and panel are finished in rubber black lacquer.
