This new Lafayette amplifier is the highest gain, low powered unit ever developed. It makes possible for the first time direct connection to a low-powered amplifier of a crystal, velocity or sound-cell mike without the need for additional pre-amplifiers. Three input channels are provided: one high-gain, with separate volume control, and two low-gain, with dual input fading control which permits simultaneous control. The amplifier furnishes 6 watts of power to a 1000-ohm speaker field. The audio output is full 5 watts into a 7000 ohm load. Output impedance is 7000 ohms; input impedance is 5 megohms for the high-gain channel and 500,000 ohms for the low gain channels. You don't have to be an engineer to operate this amplifier. Connections are easy and simple to make, and the power line is fused for positive protection. The chassis has room for a speaker, permitting the construction of a compact single-unit system. Power consumption from a.c. line is 60 watts. This amplifier is recommended for all low-power public address requirements, such as call systems, hearing aids, phonograph modernization, small halls, "barkers," etc.
