5 Watts High-Gain Amplifier 236-A

• alternative name: Wholesale Radio

Out of the Lafayette laboratories again comes a new and diferent amplifier. Now the user of low powered equipment can have the same high quality of reproduction —the same rugged construction — and, most important of all, the high gain previously available only in the larger Lafayette models. Small public address systems, call systems, announcing systems and similar installations can now be used with low level microphones such as the velocity and sound cell types and thereby obtain the excellent results possible with these high-fidelity units.

It is the first really complete low powered amplifier and incorporates such outstanding features as: a four-stage, high-gain circuit, low-gain and high-gain inputs, 6 watts field supply for 1000 ohm speaker field, full-range tone control, fused power line, plug-in input and output connections, low hum level and a protecting steel screen. Two input circuits are provided: one into the first stage for velocity and sound cell microphones, and a second, into the second stage, for phono pickups, radio tuners and similar high output devices.

Model 236 A —As described above less tubes.  $13.45 USD.

Kit of tubes 2-6C6's, 1-6B5, 1-83   $2.99 USD.

Not to be confused with the later Lafayette Stereo 236A.
