  • Notes
  • This Lafayette chassis 8 Tube Duo Symphonic was used for the models 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 150, 160, 162, 177 and 219. Lafayette claims an amplification factor of 2,000,000 times for this TRF with a four-gang tuning condenser. Reception is from 550 kc to 1500 kc. Push-pull AF output for linear 50 to 5000 cycles, tone control. Volume control is dual: antenna and "C" bias circuit. Local-Distance-switch. Sensitivity 2.5 microvolts per meter. Linear power detector with one 227 tube. Each side has a switch, one is for the Local-Distance and the other for switching an accessory socket for the power (clock, lamp etc.).

This seems to be a revised model: "The 1930 Duo Symphonic Receiver fully demonstrated its worth, not only in the United States, but in the farthest flung corners of the earth., and our files literally bulge with unsolicited testimonials testifying to the soundness of Lafayette engineering and precise manufacturing. This new season is no exception. Upon an enviable background a completely new Duo-Symphonic Receiver is presented."

Lafayette price for the chassis with synchronized Magnavox Concert Dynamic Speaker less tubes was $ 64.50 (list $ 129.00) and with complete set of RCA Radiotrons and aerial equipment $ 77.35 (list price $ 151.20). For addl. $ 3.00, 220 volt operation is possible or for $ 5.00 110 volt with 25 to 45 cycles. See picture details and see details and summaries for the models of this catalog 1931 (season 1930/31).
