- The first model in this Lafayette catalog is the model DA-13 and the DA-13 as the same model but with the "Personic Ear" included. Text in the catalog: With the "Personic Ear" installed "The loud speaker is silent - only you hear the program. A simple attachment slips under your pillow, under the cushion of your easy-chair or can be held in the hand." ... "And only Lafayette's large scale production makes possible this amazingly low price - a price that is no indication of its fine performance and attractive appereance." The SW band is 49 - 130 m and BC 175 - 555 meters. "A large illuminated airplane dial simplifies tunging to a marked degree, and lends its beautiful, gold-finished glow to the soft background of the walnut-finished American hardwood cabinet." The model has AVC.
