Remarques The chassis L-1 for 105-120 volts and L-2 for 220-240 volts 40 cycles or 110 volts 25 cycles share the same schematic - and also L-3 Regent and L-4 Regent are listed on that Rider's schematic 5-9. But the same schematic/chassis is also used for the models L-5 Viceroy, L-6 Viceroy and - displayed on page 137 of the catalog - the models with Capehart record changer as L-7 and L-8 and with Capehart two-speed phonograph L-9, L-10. The higher number in a name pair is the higher voltage. The given voltages for L-2 in the catalog page 12 are not repeated for other models but 220-240 volts 25 - 40 cycles. Both can be true.
It is a chassis for two electro dynamic loudspeakers and there is the note "Dual Twin Voice dynamic speakers". One speaker is pitched for high notes and the second for low notes, which arrangement results in an overall fidelity of practically 100% within the extremes of 70 to 4500 cycles. The models have a tube 57 as noise suppression for silent tuning and semi class "B" push-pull output with two tubes 46. The models feature Automatic interference suppression, manual interference control, automatic volume control, triple dial tuning, improved twin voice dynamic speakers, tone control and an illuminated tuning meter. Sensitivity is less than 1 microvolt per meter, selectivity for 10 kc separation. It delivers potentially 18 watts but this has been reduced to a max. of 10 watts. Current consumption is 110 watts. Rubber cushion mounted tuning condenser. Four chokes for the elimination of hum and distortion. Illuminated full vision tuning. But broadcast band (BC) only!

How is this 12 tube model line advertised?
Here I quote some text from the catalog no. 53 for 1933, copyrighted 1932, probably out in Fall 1932 It is for the models L7, L8, L9 and L10:

"Pictured above is the cabinet of this combination. One of the most beautiful sliding door cabinets ever created, an artistic combination of rare hardwoods. The sliding doors are of center matched Butt walnut. Radio panel is of select straight grain American walnut, flanked by two pillars of matched Rotary walnut. The canopy has an inlay of curly African walnut over which is a genuine wood carving in Acantus.  Speaker opening is faced with a golden cover grille cloth, and directly beneath is a drop door which opens to the record compartment. Extra heavy top of 5 ply American Walnut Veneer covers phonograph and automatic record changer. Top is suspended on piano hinges, with automatic locking bracket. Sides of cabinet are unusually heavy to provide adequate baffle area for the receiver's tremendous volume. Four handsomely carved and turned legs with extra heavy stretchers. The workmanship throughout represents furniture craftsmanship of the most artistic type. ...

The Capehart Automatic Record Changer needs no introduction. It is the acknowledged leader. Equipped with new electrical transcription Pick-up. Plays 10 and 12 inch records, and is completely automatic. The last record repeats until restacked or when master switch is turned off. An encore may be had of any record simply by raising magazine to perpendicular position. By using the new "Victor 12" records you can listen to 4 hours of continuous music. Plays with a two speed motor, 33 1/3 and 78 RPM records.

This combination is also available, if desired, without the Capehart Automatic Record Changer. The Lafayette Dual Speed Electrical Pick-up is is scientifically developed to reproduce with absolute fidelity the intricate chromatic elements of the most difficult musical compositions. Many exclusive features, including rubber dampening."

L9 and L10 use a player only - with Two-Speed Motor.
