There is a lot of misinformation concerning this set. First is the name: the correct name is 15W tip PP (this is according to the procedures used by Lorenz!) The second is related to the manufacturing year: the right answer is 1942 according to the date written to the Instruction manual DTA S 35 L. The third is claming that is a version of Torn Fu. b1 (and not B1). Let see the frequency domain:

Transceiver

Trx [MHz]

Rx[MHz]

Fu b1

3.0-5.0

3.0-6.66

Fu f

4.5-6.66

3.0-6.66

15W PP

2.5-5.0

2.5-5.0

The schematics of 15W is different because is a 12 V version using RV12P2000 and RL 12P10 valves.

On the transceiver part there is no variable capacitor only variometers. Also the power is different: 15 W for CW and 6 W phone. And so one...

This is a very unusual set having the label written in Rumanian language including the leter for “emphenger” and “sender”. The leter “R” stand for receiver and the leter “E” for “sender”.

Concerning the meaning of “PP” is unknown. Some people believing that is stand for “productie proprie” meaning “our own production” (Rumanian)!? How it can be our (Romanian) product manufactured in Germany by C. Lorenz A.G., Berlin –Tempelhof? I think that PP it can mean “parallel pentode” or “post portabil” (In  Rumanian) or ….Who knows?

If there is more information please do not hesitate to post it.
