Notes This radio is made to be mounted under the dashboard of a car. There are 4 versions of this radio and are designated Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 (116A). Types 1 through 3 have serial numbers between 10,001 and 16,036 with all numbers above 16,036 being 116A Type 4. Type 4 matches schematic #175 #5 (Rider's 3-47). The difference between this type and Type 3 is only the value and connections of some of the resistors and capacitors as noted in the schematic. The 2nd detector and rectifier tubes are still the 85A and the 6Y5 respectively. A Globar resistor (R-14) is connected across the plates of the rectifier tube in place of the spark gap and resistor used in all previous models.
