AM/FM Modulation Meter TF2300B

The TF2300B is an enhanced and extended version of the TF2300, incorporating improved RF coverage, expanded measurement modes, and refined internal circuitry. It was designed to meet the needs of FM stereo broadcasting, telemetry, and higher‑frequency communications systems emerging in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

RF Input & Frequency Coverage

• Extends FM carrier measurement up to approximately 1200 MHz.
• Extends AM carrier measurement up to approximately 400 MHz.
• Improved RF preselection and gain distribution reduce noise and enhance stability at high frequencies.

Advanced FM & PM Measurement

• Supports wideband FM, narrowband FM, and phase modulation measurement.
• Incorporates improved discriminator linearity and lower‑noise IF stages.
• Provides deviation measurement suitable for telemetry, subcarrier systems, and high‑fidelity broadcast FM.

FM Stereo Analysis

• Adds facilities for stereo pilot detection, L–R channel separation, and harmonic distortion measurement.
• Provides audio outputs for L, R, and composite signals.
• Includes filters for 19 kHz pilot, 38 kHz subcarrier, and 53 kHz SCA where applicable.

Oscillator & Calibration Enhancements

• Supports the TK2302 crystal oscillator for high‑stability internal reference operation.
• Offers improved calibration procedures and more detailed internal test points.
• Better thermal stability and drift characteristics compared to the original model.

Metering & User Interface

• Retains the analogue meter but with improved scale linearity and damping.
• Expanded front‑panel switching for stereo, PM, and telemetry modes.
• More comprehensive rear‑panel outputs for composite, pilot, and demodulated channels.
