  The Marshall Stanmore (Type M‑001) was introduced in 2013 as the mid‑sized model of Zound Industries’ Marshall‑branded home‑audio line. Early production was carried out by Kaga Hightech Co. Ltd., Japan, whose rear‑panel marking appears on the first manufacturing run; these units feature the original amplifier layout and include an optical (TOSLINK) input, later removed in subsequent revisions. Around 2015–2016 production shifted to China, with minor internal cost‑reduction changes, revised rear‑label formats, and slightly reduced cabinet weight, while maintaining the same acoustic tuning and Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX platform. The Stanmore was later superseded by the Stanmore II (2018) and Stanmore III (2022), both redesigned with updated DSP, Bluetooth 5.x, and new cabinet construction, but without the optical input found only on the earliest Type M‑001 versions.
