  • AN/PRC-77 Manpack radio: Manpack transceiver covering 30-52,95 MHz (Band A) / 53-75,95 MHz (Band B), 920 channels with 50 kHz channel spacing, FM (F3), output power 1 - 3 W, standard and subaudio tone (150 Hz) operated squelch.

    The PRC-77 system consists of RT-841 transceiver, AT-271A/PRC 10 foot (3.0 m) whip antenna or short AT-892/PRL-24 metal tape antenna. On vehicles used with AT271A/PRC vehicle whip antenna.

    Powered from BA-386/PRC-25 15 volts DC battery or OA-3633 vehicle mount power supply with integrated speaker, operated from 24 volts car battery. Together with the car mount power supply, the set is refeerd as Radio Set AN/VRC-64.

    The system was produced by several U.S. manufacturers and also by Tadiran, Israel.

    The set was used by U.S. Army in Vietnam and several other armed forces, in Switzerland it carried the designation SE-227.

    It was the successor of the AN/PRC-25 and was later replaced in the U.S. by the AN/PRC-119A.
