  • Control Panel for AN/ARC-502 VHF Radio.

Based on C-404A/A Control Panel for ARC-3, it has been modified to a 24 channel version for the R.C.A.F.
The simple rotary switch (A .... H) has been replaced by a 24 position switch, labelled with numbers 1 ... 24.

As a special feature for this Canadian variant of ARC-3 control panel, a so-called 'distress relay' has been added with the following function: When a 'crash switch' somewhere in the aircraft (ejection seat ?) is closed, this relay will be energized. It switches the channel selector to CH 22 and operates the TONE pushbutton. This will cause a continuous tone transmission on a predefined frequency of CH 22.
