My 1966 Murphy B815 MW/LW/BS (Bandspread 190 -210 metres MW) 8 transistor radio which has been fully restored, which entailed a good clean and repairs to the grille, and replacing one of the AF117 germanium transistors which are notoriously unreliable. This one also has the pirate radio station 'Caroline' on the dial.

Notes

A battery powered portable eight transistor radio covering the MW (187-565 metres or 187-570 metres) and LW (1070-1900 metres) bands, and Bandspread covering the high frequency end of MW (192-210 metres).  When the 'CAR AE.' push button is pressed down, separate screened aerial tuning coils are used with a car aerial. Sockets for car aerial and earphone. Elliptical loudspeaker 8 x 5 inch. Price in 1966 £14 9s 7d plus purchase tax.

The later Murphy B815A is similar, but with minor circuit changes including different output transistors and is medium grey in colour.
