  • Shape
  • Portable set > 8 inch (also usable without mains)
  • Notes
  • The Nems-Clarke 120E professional field strength meter has a built-in antenna loop and is factory calibrated to determine AM broadcast field strength from 10 microvolts per meter to 10 volts per meter.  Frequency coverage is 540 to 1600 kHz.   The set uses two 67.5 volt "B" batteries and five 1.5 volt "D" cells (in parallel for 1.5 volts filament).  Accuracy of attenuators is specified at 2%.  A special logarithmic meter is used with a sensitivity of 200 uA.  If not powered the meter is automatically set to below zero and should not be adjusted.  The second 1R5 is the calibrating oscillator.  A headphone of 10K ohms may be used but is not supplied.  The cover is spring-loaded so that the loop antenna is fully extended.
