NEMS Clarke built Communication and Telemetry Receivers. The name NEMS Clarke was changed in 1961 to "Vitro Electronics, a Division of Vitro Corporation of America" (they built military equipment).

History:
In 1951, National Electric Machine Shop (NEMS) merged with Clarke Instruments, run by Allan Clarke at 919 Jessup Blair Drive, Silver Spring, MD. After 1955, they changed the name to NEMS-Clarke.
Allan Clarke hired Ralph A. Grimm who did a great engineering job designing a series of telemetry and special purpose receivers used in the developing rocket and space industry.
In September 1957, Nems-Clarke had been taken over by Vitro Corporation of America, the name was changed to Vitro Electronics. In 1960, R. A. Grimm and a couple of engineers left the company due to struggels with the management staff and founded CEI, several contracts in the space programme and for surveillance receivers have been taker over by CEI.
