Specifications
METER: Is fitted with the 4T5 5-inch type meter, the accuracy and reliability of which is of a high order.
The accuracy is closely maintained on the voltage ranges by the use of non-inductive carbon resistors having a tolerance of ± 1%. These resistors are selected – not grated or cut – and are of the brand that possess low voltage and temperature coefficients. All the shunts (1%) for current, etc., are of Eureka.
OPERATION: The instrument embodies a selective system of regard and simple operation to cover the numerous ranges specified.
CONSTRUCTION: The external eye appeal, finish, and follows high-grade instrument practise throughout.
Ranges: D.C .Volts, 10 - 100 - 250 - 1,000
A.C. & Output Volts, 10 – 100 – 250 - 1,000
DECIBELS, -10 to +15 and +10 to +35dB, reference 1mW across 500Ω
D.C. MILLIAMPS, 1 – 10 – 50 - 250
OHMS, Has a special range, enabling measurements down to 0.1Ω (on the 10 Ω scale) with additional battery operated ranges up to 1MΩ
MEGOHMS, 0 - 10MΩ at 255 volts potential for high resistance leakage and isolation checks
CAPACITY, measures the capacity of paper or mica condensers from 0.001 - 5uF, as well as indicating open circuit.
INDUCTANCE, provides ranges for measuring the inductance of chokes, transformers, etc., from 0 - 1500 Henries.
IMPEDANCE, reactance in ohms – at the frequency of the line from 1 - 0.5MΩ
ELECTROLYTIC CONDENSERS, high and low voltage electrolytics registered on the dial as good or bad
A.V.C., A unique addition is the provision provided for reading A.V.C. voltages up to 25 Volts by the zero current method. This feature enables the D.C. potentials to be read without drawing any current from the load resistor – the equivalent of infinite ohms per volt.
Advertised in 1937 for £13/10/- plus tax or complete with the Analyser Selector Unit for £16/10/-.
The function the Analyser Selector Unit is to extend the pins undereith the chassis on the radio under test.
The valve from the radio under test is plugged in to the Analyser and the flying valve plug lead from the unit is plugged into the valve socket on the radio.
Then the analyser unit allows you to isolate each pin in turn and make measurement on the pin.
